Cleanslate crew discovers knife in Mya Lyons murder

As part of the investigation of the Mya Lyons murder, Cleanslate was asked to assist in the cleanup of the general area in which Mya was discovered. During cleanup, a Cleanslate intern found a knife which is now evidence in the investigation. See the news stories by CLTV and CBS at the follwing links.

  100,000 Bags and Counting!

During the first quarter of 2008, Cleanslate broke a major milestone by collecting its 100,000th bag of garbage/ recycling. Interns, staff and community supporters celebrated this sucess on April 28, 2008.

 

The Cara Program Receives Prestigous Alford Axelson Award for Nonprofit Managerial Excellence

At its 8th Annual Symposium for Nonprofit Professionals, The Axelson Center for Nonprofit Management at Northpark University awarded its prestigous Alford-Axelson Award for Nonprofit Managerial Excellence to The Cara Program. The award also included a $5,000 grant from the University.

The Baird & Warner Good Will Network, a financial supporter of The Cara Program, will announce today that it has raised over $1 million in support of Chicago area charities since 2002.
