Permanent Job Placement

Each participant is guaranteed a permanent job with benefits so long as they fully participate in The Cara Program's curriculum.

Human resource specialists, also known as "corporate account managers" at The Cara Program, are responsible for placing participants in quality jobs that meet their personal and financial goals.

+ Participants are placed in quality jobs at one of 80 Cara companies throughout the Chicago area. In 2008, approximately 250 graduates will be placed in permanent jobs at companies such as Pitney Bowes Management Services, ABM Lakeside, JPMorgan Chase & Co., and the University of Chicago.

The average starting wage for all job placements in 2007 was $10.69 per hour plus benefits.

+ Strong business relationships are a critical component of The Cara Program's ability to place participants in quality jobs. These relationships are maintained by the corporate account managers and are strengthened by The Cara Program's results - currently 72.2% of employed Cara participants remain on the job for at least one year. Through these relationships, participants gain access to great job opportunities and the companies get qualified and motivated employees.
